"Chase the Sun for Moto Fun" was what we were looking for on this 6-month tour of the USA, and that is exactly what we found this day. Even better, we found it all at one pretty spectacular winery called Moto Doffo Winery. This place was right up our alley!
It had sun, it had wine, it had views, and it had classic bikes... Then when they mentioned the cafe menu had fries loaded with garlic aioli, topped with chimichurri homemade from the winery with sliced ribeye steak... I think I had died and gone to heaven with my mouth watering. I persuaded Bill that we had to share a plate of those fries, and they didn't disappoint. We may have, at this point, been considering packing up the RV and moving in to live in their parking lot full-time!

They had four tastings to choose from, with prices ranging between $32 per tasting up to $48. Unfortunately, tasting fees are not waived if you purchase.
The Misto
The Rosso
The Reserve
The Desert
I had the Rosso, a variety of six reds. Bill had the Misto - five wines, a mix of whites and reds. We sipped and shared with each other; that way, we could sample more of the wines, and I can't say any of them were bad. In fact, all were really good. The Zinfandel was my favorite and, of course, one of the most expensive as well. It was sold out, so I opted for just a glass with our tasty fries. We did leave with a bottle of Port, my second favorite of the tastings.
After our delicious lunch we had a tour of the Moto Barrel room admiring the beautiful collection of bikes. We chatted awhile with another couple who we learned had made their way up from LA for the day. Thank you to John and Jaclyn who were sweet enough to take a photo for us together.

Doffo is a must for wineries to visit when in the area, especially if you are a motorcycle enthusiast. The drive from Palm Desert to Temecula was amazing, and we discovered Highway 74 between Paradise Valley and Temecula looked like a pretty amazing twisty ride, so we'll for sure be planning a trip back on the bikes later this week.
